About

“A community arts organization founded by Susan Perlstein in 1979, Elders Share the Arts was a pioneer and national leader in the field of creative aging.” After 40 years, ESTA closed its doors but transferred some of their programs to other organizations. Pearls of Wisdom is now housed at DOROT.

Creative Aging Focus:

Elders Share the Arts was one of the first and most influential “creative aging” organizations. The only organization in NYC that focused on older adults as creators. Founder Susan Perlstein went on to establish the National Center for Creative Aging in Washington DC.
